What is it that I do?
I have struggled for a long time to identify succinctly what it is I do - both professionally and personally!
One of the first things a fellow horse person asks you when you meet is “what do you do (with your horse) ?” My answer has always been “A little bit of everything!” - which always feels lacking.
Professionally, I have felt challenged in the description box, because there is no one discipline I can claim as my focus. I am not just an eventing coach, a dressage coach, a liberty trainer etc… I have never felt like any of those specific titles encompassed the things I know and love to teach. There is so much to share, that one label and box just isnt quite right!
When I see those discipline specific labeled coaches, to me, I see teachers of the icing on the cake. People who you should seek out after you have baked yourself a solid cake. If you want to succeed in any particular competition arena (or even just in a sport for fun), you need to have some key foundation pieces in place first.
This is where I come in! I bake cakes!
I teach people how to train their horses from the ground up. I can teach you how to get your foundation so solid, that any question you wish to ask your horse in the future will come with an easy yes answer. If you have holes or cracks in your foundation cake, adding more icing won’t fix things - but finding out where you can reinforce your weaknesses outside of sport can propel you in the direction you want to go.
A high level of understanding and foundation progression is what I bring to the table for my students. I love to share how to take a horse and human at any level of development and help them feel successful in every step of their journey together.
How good can each moment with your horse be?
