SPIRIT OF INNOVATION CHALLENGE: The 2012-2013 Spirit of Innovation Challenge encourages 13 - 18 years old students from around the world to create products to solve global challenges for the benefit of humanity. Student teams are invited to submit one-page abstracts detailing their innovations by Oct. 24. The competition encompasses four challenge categories: Aerospace and Aviation, Cybertechnology and Security, Energy and Environment, and Health and Nutrition.

NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing and Educator Award
The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is now accepting applications for the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing, which recognizes young women at the high school level for their aspirations and achievements in technology and computing! The Award is open to young women in the U.S. and Puerto Rico in grades 9-12. Students can apply online at www.aspirationsaward.org.

Your students can also apply for the regional NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing and Educator Award for 30 counties in northern California, hosted by the UC Davis C-STEM Center. NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.
