Every garden has a story. 🌱💜

Several years ago, one of our wonderful Amistad families gifted us this Salvia ‘Amistad’ plant. What started as a thoughtful gift has grown into a beautiful part of our school — a place where hummingbirds return each season to find nectar and where children pause to watch, wonder, and ask questions.

We love that this plant shares our school’s name, but even more, we love what it represents. Like the relationships we build with our families, it has grown stronger with time, care, and connection.

At Amistad, we believe learning begins with noticing the little things—a hummingbird’s visit, a blooming flower, a moment of curiosity. Those moments often become the memories children carry with them for years to come.

🍩 Welcome to our Donut Shop! ☕✨

Our classroom has been buzzing with sweet learning as we explored all things DONUTS! 💕 From voting on a name for our shop (congratulations to Sprinkle Donuts! 🎉) to serving coffee, stacking giant donut towers, taking customer orders, and hosting pretend tea parties, our little learners have been busy building so many important skills through play.

This month we practiced:
🍩 Counting, sorting, and stacking
☕ Imaginative and cooperative play
🗣️ Language and communication
✍️ Early writing through signs and voting
🤝 Problem-solving, sharing, and teamwork

Play is where learning comes to life, and this theme has been such a sweet success! We can’t wait to see where our imaginations take us next! 💖

Here Ye, Here Ye! Spring is here! 🌸✨

The children at Amistad have been enjoying our Castles and Dragons unit, and today we extended our learning by celebrating our Spring Fairytale Festival (or “Fairytale Fiesta,” as kiddos have been calling it! 😆)

We had ourselves a delightful time making potions in the Alchemist’s Den, dressing up at the Armory, and snacking on some food at the Monarch Tavern! Truly a merry time with friends. Long live the Kingdom of Amistad! Huzzah! 🏰🧚‍♀️✨

Hooray! Spring is here! 🌱💕 The kiddos were excited to begin working on our garden. The first thing on our list was to plant some seeds and fill our garden beds with lots of good soil. Stay tuned for more garden fun as we progress on our !
