Anakbayan-San Jose condemns the unjust mass arrest of the Tinang 92 by the Philippine National Police, led by landlord parasite Noel Villanueva.

The Tinang92 of MAKISAMA, were rightfully tilling their lands as granted to them by their Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOA), when they were violently arrested. Through ‘Bungkalan,’ or collective farming, farmers assert their struggle for land and for their own survival. The government’s CARP, or Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, continuously fails to protect the land rights of the peasantry. Farmers who assert the rights to till their land are heavily repressed, while their claim to land is disregarded in favor of local big landlords and bureaucrats such as the Villanueva family.

With food insecurity on the rise, planting food should not be a crime! CARP remains a tool of the ruling class to deny the masses genuine land reform, keeping peasants and farmers landless and the Landlords satisfied!

FREE THE TINANG 92!
LAND TO THE TILLERS!

We as Anakbayan Silicon Valley stand in solidarity with the Black Liberation movement against the state violence and police brutality towards the Black community. We call for a community response to demand justice for the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmuad Arbery, and all the countless victims of racist killings and discrimination of US imperialism and capitalism.

We encourage each other to stay educated, mobilize, organize and use our voices against the corrupt systems of America. Our voices are so crucial, especially at this time to speak up against years of oppression and silencing of black and brown communities. The success of the Black Liberation movement is also a triumph for the Filipino Liberation movement.

Within this post, we have provided links for organizations that are accepting donations to help support the Black Lives Matter movement moving forward.
