Dear Valued Partners and Friends,
I am writing to share an important personal and organizational update. After nearly 30 years with ConXión to Community—and though I only recently assumed the role of President/CEO—I will be retiring from my position effective August 31, 2026.
Serving this community through ConXión has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Over the past three decades, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated staff, committed partners, and generous funders like you to expand opportunities for youth, families, and individuals facing systemic barriers.
Together, we have built programs that empower our community through education, workforce development, and supportive services—creating pathways toward stability and self-sufficiency.
I am incredibly proud of the impact we have achieved together and deeply grateful for your partnership, trust, and continued investment in our mission. Your support has made it possible for ConXión to grow into the strong, community-rooted organization it is today.
Please know that ConXión to Community remains in a position of strength. Our leadership team and Board of Directors are actively engaged in a thoughtful transition process to ensure continuity, stability, and continued excellence in service delivery. I will remain fully committed through my final day to supporting a smooth transition and positioning the organization for ongoing success.
While I look forward to this next chapter, my connection to ConXión and the community it serves will always remain strong. I am confident that the organization’s future is bright, and I am excited to see its continued growth and impact.
Thank you again for your partnership and for the vital role you play in advancing our shared mission.
With gratitude,
Lori Ramos Chavez
President & CEO

National Fentanyl Awareness Day, Wednesday, April 29, is a reminder of the dangers of fentanyl and the need to prevent drug misuse. Even one counterfeit pill can contain a potentially deadly dose. Understanding fentanyl risks and having open conversations can help people you care about make safer choices.
Through the Fentanyl Free America initiative, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) encourages individuals, families, and communities to learn the dangers of fentanyl, share trusted resources, and promote prevention nationwide.
Fentanyl Free America highlights prevention tools and resources designed to support education and action, including:
Information and materials from Operation Prevention to support conversations at home and in schools
Resources to help share accurate, DEA-approved safety information
Opportunities to participate in Prescription Drug Take Back Day and other prevention activities
Taking simple preventive steps can make a real difference. We can help protect our communities and move toward a safer, fentanyl free America.
