From the Lucas College classroom to the sidelines of the 2026 FIFA World Cup 🌍⚽
MBA Graduate Adriana Yesenia Arreola was selected as one of 65,000 volunteers worldwide to support media operations at Levi's Stadium — working press conferences, managing the media hub, and even marshaling the pitch during USA vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina.
"During my MBA, I learned to take initiative — how to lead with your team." Adriana says the skills she built at SJSU showed up in a big way on the world's biggest stage.

SJSU grad students are tackling real-world problems — from wildfires to smarter algorithms. 🔥🤖
At the 21st annual Student Research Day, 250 College of Science students presented research across dozens of disciplines.

Doris Zhang (MS '26 Statistics) built wildfire risk models from field surveys of 176 California homes — and coded the simulation in just one week.

Sahil Atul Mhatre (MS '26 Computer Science) built a knowledge graph using hypergraphs to improve how recommendation systems — like those on social media and e-commerce platforms — suggest content to users.
