Our first annual Little Oak classroom canvas auction! All funds raised from the canvas auction will go directly back to each classroom. This means the money your childās class earns will be used to support their learning environmentāhelping purchase new materials, supplies, and special activities for the children to enjoy. Crockpot with Miss Jen (New this year and such a success!)ā¦ The children have made vegetable soup, applesauce, chocolate chip cookies, & Mac-n-cheese so far this year!
Having preschoolers help with cooking activities in the classroom is a great hands-on learning experience.
ā¢ It promotes independence and confidence - children feel proud giving them a sense of accomplishment and helps them feel capable of contributing to something.
ā¢ Supports Math & Science Skills ā Measuring, mixing, and observing changes in food teach basic math and science concepts.
ā¢ Encourages Healthy Eating ā When children help prepare food, theyāre more likely to try new and healthy options.
ā¢ Enhances Fine Motor Development ā Actions like stirring, pouring, and tearing ingredients strengthen small muscle movements.
ā¢ Boosts Language Development ā Cooking introduces new vocabulary
