"We are all human, and sometimes, the struggle feels real. For the last few months, I have been working on my schoolwork and not much else—just reading a lot, attending my classes, attending book groups when I am not sick, poetry groups the same, and attending my Al-Anon meetings. I had barely left the house for a few months here. As an extreme extrovert, this has left me feeling blue, a bit down, and lonely at times. I plan and invite others to many things; I was kinda kicking back, hoping to see if my friends would invite and include me in some of their events or outings or say, "Hey, let's get together." A few have. But I understand. Many of my peeps are busy with full, busy lives, kids, family, jobs, and other activities. I wanted to share this because, so often, it is easy for us to see someone on social media and think that all is dandy, rainbows and butterflies all the time. Loneliness is a really painful feeling in the heart and gut. I know that I am the solution and the cure. But sometimes, it is good to sit with it, sit with the painful feelings, and learn that I can live through them; I don't have to ignore them or push them down, and loneliness, like all the other emotions- is part of our human experience. I also learned I can have serenity, joy, and gratitude, along with loneliness, at the same time! So if you ever find yourself feeling lonely... you are not alone.... it gets to the best of us."
