2021 has been another challenging year for the industry, during which our international education community has remained resilient. In the shadow of so much uncertainty we have continued to come together to support one another, create new opportunities and move forward with strength and determination.

It's a team when a group is on the road abroad.

We value the interpersonal exchange very much. That's where a Chinese learner learns & feels culture personally, and is so important in language learning. At the time of face-to-face interaction is impossible, we match US students with same-age Chinese students in our new Facetime Exchange Program, to continue the interpersonal exchange. For three days, we're at the NCLC 2020 virtual conference. We have virtually met and video-talked with hundreds of Chinese educators & administrators around the US and the globe, and introduced our Face-time program which pairs US students with same-age students in China for Chinese practice.

Many teachers told us that this is what they need to cope with online classes. Online learning requires a significant amount of motivation and enthusiasm. We're attending the NCLC 2020 conference, the biggest gathering of Chinese educators & administrators around the US and the globe. With over 4,000 people and many workshops, we learn a lot from each other. It's so nice meeting with new and old friends, partner schools and teachers.

This is very true, especially in an era of conflicts between countries. It's okay no one can travel now. Do it in the future but don't give up travel. Let help with your plans and budget. We're the expert.

A proud parent posted a photo of her children in ( ) summer camp in China 10 years ago. She is one of our thousand parents who sent kids to the amazing experience, and the kids are among a large student body from 26+ countries. Today the kids are both grown-ups, the are forever in their memories. The language ability and cross-cultural appreciation developed throughout the experience also are forever with them and help them achieve important goals in life.

SLB is glad to offer schools who have scheduled their trips to China but can't travel there due to the Coronavirus an alternative to visit Taiwan.

So many people lump Taiwan and China together in their minds but Taiwan is distinct from China in so many ways. Culturally, linguistically, religiously, demographically and culinarily as well. It deserves to be recognized for the beautiful place that it is with its own distinct identity!

Some days are to celebrated, others are meant to be endured. But in all things, be grateful and have faith.
