STEAM at Stipe Elementary School

Flashback to one week ago when our school community came together for one of our favorite days of the year— Cinco de Mayo!

Our Tech Challenge team of 4th and 5th graders showcased their build in The Tech’s Tech Challenge held in downtown San Jose. For the last two months after school, these engineers designed and built a device that lifts and moves—competing with 4th and 5th graders from all over Silicon Valley. If you see what of these students around, tell them congratulations on a job well done! .

What an incredible day of sports and excitement! Our students brought their A-game to the field today for SJ2026, showing us all what teamwork, determination, and school spirit look like in action.

From the first whistle to the final dash, the energy was electric!

What a week for the books! 📚 A massive thank you to our incredible secretary Saray and our wonderful health clerk Rosie for pouring so much heart into arranging such a fun Spirit Week for all of us.

Hosted by former YSI Executive Director and bat expert Dave Johnston, you’ll learn all about bats’ amazing adaptations, their role in pollination and insect control, and why protecting them matters. Then, put your new knowledge to the test on a guided evening walk to see bats in action!

Join Councilmember Pamela Campos and your neighbors for a community bike ride to Viva CalleSJ! This is a great chance to enjoy San José’s incredible open-streets event and learn about the future of transportation in our community. We'll be joined by representatives from the San Jose Department of Transportation and the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). They'll share details about planned bicycle and pedestrian improvements for the Capitol and Branham Transit-Oriented Development projects.
