Little Owls Day or Night Care

I don’t often share about my personal life, but I’m going to for two reasons. One, because I love what Jenny's Light is doing as a foundation to bring postpartum depression and psychosis to the forefront. Secondly, it serves as a reminder for parents and childcare providers to give the same energy to ourselves as we do to those we care for.

I’d never been a very physically active person, and although I found myself in awe of runners I often thought, “...so like...why would you do that...for fun?” Only recently when I started running little by little did I begin to understand why. And today I found myself at a place I never thought I’d be - about to do a 5k, RUNNING.FOR. FUN.
But as I found myself surrounded by people that eat 5k’s for breakfast, I began to think “OMG, I’m going to come in last, how embarrassing.” I quickly changed my train of thought when I realized I’d never allow one of my littles to have this negative mindset. I’d say something like, “You can do it, don’t give up!” Or, “Even if you come in last, you’ve done it!” I share this to remind us all to be kind to ourselves, remember to love and encourage yourself with the same energy you would your own Little Owl.

We made a trip out to our favorite farm, Emma Prusch Farm Park, just in time to beat the weeklong rain!
