Second Start has vigorously pursued its mission of empowering students with specials needs since 1974 Classes for adults were added in July 1988.

Founded in 1974, SECOND START began offering a tutorial and diagnostic clinic to children with severe disabilities. Beginning in 1976, the Second Start opened Pine Hill School, which delivered school based services to students in grades 1-12. These services provided a multi-disciplinary, academic and therapeutic programs geared toward developmentally disabled and emotionally troubled special needs

We are so excited to announce the return of our Autism Forum on Thursday, April 20th, 2023.

Moderated by Dave Clark, News Anchor, KTVU-TV Channel 2, this free event will take place at Cisco's Headquarters in San Jose, CA.

The forum promises to bring you a wealth of information on what autism is and is not. As we dispel the stigmas and increase your knowledge and understanding of autism, we hope you will help others do the same.
