I could work a technically specific job and do it well but that 85% is absolutely my skill set!

4 years art, 3 years theater.

Now I teach art, run a lunchtime creativity club/calming space, & help at my husband’s theater.

While it is hard to get a full-time job doing these things, these qualities will also help you to understand how to read your client, your coworkers, your boss and adjust accordingly.
Theater teaches how to get along with others.

Pure commission?
You need technical knowledge AND social savvy.

You learn memorization, time management, teamwork, and work ethic because that show must go on and go on time. If you do not know your part, lines, movement, when to enter/exit, or fail to arrive, you can mess up the entire cast.
We all depend on each other for success.

Theater also teaches you how to not “break character” when you want to cry or rage.
Great customer service / employee relations means keeping your cool when faced with someone screaming obscenities in your face because they have a problem.
Theater teaches you to not just mask, but full body language. If you can stay calm, most of the time, you can help to de-escalate the situations and talk things through.

Now your creative outside the box thinking can help you find a solution.
Because when the script gets off track, you need to do just that to ad lib your way back on course.
Flexibility, fast thinking, and improvisation teaches you to dance through the chaos.
