So proud of the work our Environmental Committee has led this year with our Kestrel Box Project 🐦🌾

In partnership with our Ag Engineering Pathway and the Davis Sunrise Rotary, students built kestrel boxes to support natural pest management and promote biodiversity in our local agricultural community. Next step, working with local farms to get them installed out in the field.

This project earned our chapter recognition as a State Finalist for the National Chapter Award! Andrea Perez and Adelina Wehner did an incredible job presenting their work to a panel of student delegates from across the state.

Real impact, student leadership, and agriculture in action 🤍

Huge thank you to Capay Canyon Ranch for hosting us and giving our students an inside look at your almond processing facility and farm 🌱

We’ve had such a great time partnering with the Center for Land-Based Learning SLEWS program this year, planting a hedgerow of native plants at Capay Canyon Ranch in Esparto. Watching our students connect hands-on with agriculture, conservation, and the local community has been so rewarding.

Grateful for partnerships like this that bring learning to life! 🤍

Congratulations to Tyler Millsap on being named a State Finalist for the FFA Star Administrator Award 🌟

Mr. Millsap earned the Yolo Section Star Administrator Award in January. He was then selected as the North Coast Region Star Administrator, representing FFA chapters across the western half of California from Half Moon Bay to Crescent City. His application, written by our FFA students, was recognized at the State Level and qualified him as one of the 5 State Finalists for this award!

As our CTE Administrative Lead, Tyler has made a lasting impact on our Ag program. He has shown up for FFA events, supported our work in securing grants, and continuously advocated for opportunities that help our students prepare for the future and reach the competencies laid out in our graduate profile!

Mr. Millsap, we are incredibly grateful for your leadership and support of the Davis FFA community! This recognition is well deserved! 🌱💙

Our FFA chapter meeting featured a fun and creative Turkey Drawing Challenge! Members had the chance to show off their artistic skills, compete for the best turkey design, and enjoy a relaxing, festive activity together. Whether experienced artists or just drawing for fun, everyone participated and had a great time. It was a light-hearted break from our usual routine and a memorable way to celebrate the season.

Huge thank you to Dr. Pettey, Ella Hughes, and the UC Davis Livestock Judging Team for partnering with us to house the West Coast Elite sheep and goats on our campus for just over two weeks! 🐑🐐💙

Our students had the incredible opportunity to care for and work with some of the highest-caliber animals in the country during their hands-on labs, and it was an experience they will never forget.

We are also so grateful for the livestock judging and showmanship clinic that UC Davis hosted for our members. Their expertise and support made a meaningful impact on our students’ growth as livestock evaluators and showmen!

Thank you to UC Davis for investing in our kids and our program! 💛💙🌾
