Blooming Blossoms Learning Center

This month we will be learning and exploring different art mediums! Children have had so much fun creating beautiful masterpieces with different art materials. It is going to be a fun month of September!

We love exploring in the garden! We have various fruit trees, passion fruit, blueberries, a butterfly garden, and fruit and veggie plants that we swap out each season from the garden beds. Right now we are growing squash, cucumber, zucchini, eggplant, green beans, tomato’s, carrots, jalapeño, and radish. The kids have so much fun checking on the garden and seeing what we can harvest! It’s so much fun when they get to try something they grew. One of their favorites this year so far was blueberries!

Since we are learning all about the forest this month, we brought in a terrarium! Children were able to watch insects break down material into dirt that gives nutrients to plants. We also did an owl, snake, and wolf for art throughout the week. Children have loved exploring all the forest activities!

This month we are learning all about the forest! We will be learning about animals and plants that are found in the forest. We will be moving and grooving to songs like, “We’re going on a bear hunt”, doing fun art projects with all the forest animals, and classroom activities that let kids explore what it’s like in the forest. We are looking forward to a fun month of August learning about the forest!

We love doing arts and crafts projects here at Blooming Blossoms! We do an art project everyday based on the theme we are learning about. They practice gluing, mixing, cutting, coloring, and so much more! Not only is arts and crafts great for their fine motor skills, this also helps children learn colors and shapes. Kids are always so excited to see what they will be creating next!

Everyday we have “circle time” here at Blooming Blossoms! At circle time we do the calendar, read a story, learn new vocabulary words each week, practice spelling children’s names, and sing a song at the end. Each month there is a new theme that we learn about. For the month of July we are learning about sea creatures. We read stories, do art projects, and learn new vocabulary words that are all based on the theme. We also do music and movement as well as some activities that include the theme we are learning about. It’s always exciting exploring a new theme every month!

At Blooming Blossoms we spend a lot of time outside! We have a saucer swing, a raised playhouse with a slide, water play in the warmer months, a fruit and vegetable garden, a butterfly garden, we have an area for bike and scooter riding, various shaded areas with misters to keep cool, and centers set up with toys to promote learning. Blooming Blossoms Learning Center is now enrolling!

We offer a fun learning environment for children to explore. We follow an online curriculum called Gee Whiz, where each month we learn about a new theme. We learn about anything from farming, gardening, sea creatures, the rainforest, insects, occupations, space, ABC’s, numbers, shapes, and so much more.
We do a “circle time” everyday, where we do the calendar, read a story on the theme, learn vocabulary and phonics, and practice spelling names. We also do art projects and music and movement.
We spend a lot of our day outside and, have an awesome garden that children love to help grow.

We want to wish everyone the happiest of holidays, and a wonderful new year! Here at Blooming Blossoms, we celebrated with hot cocoa drinking, gingerbread house making, and cookie decorating. It was a lot of fun, as we created some special memories with our little ones. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday spent with those they love!

We had a blast celebrating thanksgiving with all of our friends at Blooming Blossoms! Each friend brought a special dish to share and we all sat at the table and enjoyed the delicious food together. We have been talking a lot about what there is to be thankful for around us. The children each shared something or someone they are thankful for.

At Blooming Blossoms we are so thankful for the amazing staff, the wonderful families, and the sweet children! There is a lot to be thankful for this year. We hope that everyone has a fun and safe Thanksgiving spent with those they love!
