Stage Presence Fall Cabaret Program for Grades 2nd-8th:

Due to low enrollment, Moana Jr. has been converted into a Musical Theater Cabaret that will rehearse 1x/week on Wednesdays from 5pm-7pm. The students would still work toward a final performance with the Nugget class at the end of the session, but there would be no auditions, no intensive tech week, and only one performance (unless families would like more than 1!).

In the Cabaret class, we will get to know each student’s musical interests and strengths and curate a performance featuring solo, duet, and group numbers. These smaller classes are often a wonderful way for students to build confidence, develop musical theater skills, and form close friendships while having a lot of fun.

Rehearsals: will take place: Wednesdays 5pm-7pm directly after our Chicken Nugget Chorus. Please see our calendar link below for a full range of dates for this offering.

Registration Cost for our Musical Theater Cabaret (2nd-8th Graders): $450/student ($200 deposit required to register. Balance due or will automatically processed in our booking system by August 19th, 2026)

Introducing our Chicken Nugget Chorus Class for TK-1st Graders!:

Rehearsals: Our Chicken Nugget Chorus will rehearse on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-5pm and will open our production Moana Jr. with their very own performance of 2-3 songs! Prepare for the ultimate cuteness!

Registration Cost for Chicken Nuggets: (TK-1st Graders): $175/student ($100 deposit required to register. Balance due or will automatically processed in our booking system by August 19, 2026) We typically do not have our Nuggets wear costumes, but if we decide to have costumes, the same fee will apply to both groups.

Today has been a much better and more positive day for Stage Presence! We have converted our San Jose Fall Production into a Fall Cabaret Showcase and would love for more students to join. We will be focused on skill building in musical theater.

We have a younger track (ages 7-12) who will have rehearsals on Thursdays and our teen track will rehearse on Fridays at the San Jose Scottish Rite. Both groups will perform in a showcase at the end of the session. Check out our website for details.

Cost is $450/student and we will begin the week of August 25th. This is a much more chill and manageable program option for all.

Huge thank you to our enrolled families for your flexibility as well as Emily Boxall Aid and Holli McBride (your directing team and my besties) who personally called each parent and helped shift this entire project. It takes a village and I feel loved. Tysm. ❤️

Hello Stage Presence Families,

I am writing to you today under rather unfortunate circumstances. I hate to share such personal information, but I have been unable to work at my full capacity for most of the summer, and I want to share an update. I have tried my best to keep working at any capacity, but it has been a challenge, and I'm sorry if I have missed any emails or texts in the past month or two.

For those of you who have known me for over a year, you likely know that last summer I lost twins and still managed to run the business at full capacity shortly after, through this school year. At the start of this summer, I found out I was pregnant again, and our fabulous staff carried out our summer program in my absence as I directed the program from home. In late July, I found out there was no heartbeat and once again have lost twins. This time, I had to have one procedure two weeks ago, and another tomorrow.

Teaching music is very personal and emotional, and I love to be fully present so we can excel at every audition and callback, ensuring my lessons remain at the incredibly high level they have been for the past 10 years. I'm excited to heal and return to my full form, but it might need to look a little different.

I am sharing this because it has taken a huge physical and emotional toll on me. After this next procedure tomorrow, I will finally begin my healing journey and recovery. Coaches Milo, Melanie, and Anika have been incredible teaching in my place, and I am so grateful to them and our summer staff for delivering an incredible summer program in my absence.

I am deeply sorry I am missing important audition prep right now for Dream Team, Mitty, and fall auditions, but I will be back soon. Currently, the best thing for my health is to teach from home, and though usually I have my full school year planned out by August, I am unsure what my presence will be in San Jose at this time. We are considering removing some shows from our San Jose season and taking some time to focus on teaching lessons and healing. I am so proud of the incredible work I have done in San Jose with so many productions in a few short years, and I appreciate all of your business. I will be pivoting a bit to focus back on voice, hopefully taking students to compete and perform at NATS opportunities, offering more showcases, and returning to our roots a bit. If we offer fewer productions, I want everyone to know how deeply grateful I am to have produced so many shows. It has been a wild and beautiful experience over the last three years of productions.

On the note of shows, The Addams Family currently has slightly under our minimum number of students needed, and since we lowered our registration rate to meet the needs of the economy, we ask that anyone planning to register does so in the next week. We have pushed the start date back to August 25th. Thank you all for being part of Stage Presence in person, virtually, and in our productions. We turned ten in July, and we will celebrate down the road when I'm feeling better.

For now, if you would like to be on my teaching schedule for fall, I have very few openings, so please notify me if that is your preference. I will be virtual for San Jose students and teaching from our in-home studio in San Francisco. Coach Melanie will also teach virtually, Milo will teach in person in San Jose, Coach Alex will teach Guitar in person and virtually in San Jose, and we will hire a new coach soon in San Jose. A huge thank you to Coach Anika, who will be with us until near the end of August. She will return virtually after her NYU Semester Abroad in England. I am grateful to be your vocal coach and to spend some much-needed time with my family in San Francisco, where I live.

Costume Fee: There will be no costume fee unless students request costumes. If so, a costume fee ranging from $50-75 will be invoiced part way through the show for Moana Jr. Performers. All balances must be cleared in order to perform. We typically do not have our Nuggets wear costumes, but if we decide to have costumes, the same fee will apply to both groups.

Please see our website in order to see a full range of dates/times. Our final rehearsal schedule will be published after the show is cast. A maximum of 3 conflicts are allowed per performer. In order to maximize rehearsal time, students may be called by character. There are no conflicts allowed during mandatory rehearsal, tech rehearsals, or performances. Rehearsals and Performances will take place at the United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco.
