Russo/McEntee Academy Awarded $10,000 Grant from Sprouts Family Foundation

Russo/McEntee Academy is proud to announce that we have once again been selected as a recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Sprouts Family Foundation, marking the second consecutive year our school has received this generous support.

This year’s grant will provide nutrition and garden education for TK–2nd–grade students, allowing our youngest learners to engage in hands-on experiences that promote healthy living, sustainability, and lifelong wellness practices.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Sprouts Family Foundation for their continued partnership and recognition of the commitment and efforts of our school community. We also thank Interim Superintendent Sandra Garcia, Board Members Mr. Minh Pham, Corrina Herrera Loera, and Andreas Quintero, as well as the many parents and students who joined us in celebrating this important achievement.

With the support of community partners like Sprouts, we are able to continue building meaningful opportunities that enrich the lives of our students and strengthen the Russo/McEntee Academy community. We are excited to share more about a special tradition at Russo/McEntee—our Student of the Year recognition!
Unlike traditional awards based solely on academic achievement, the Student of the Year at Russo/McEntee is selected based on the core values that define our school community. These values include compassion, leadership, communication, respect, responsibility, collaboration, and hard work.
Each teacher carefully selects two students who consistently demonstrate these important character traits—students who lead by example, support their peers, and embody the spirit of what it means to be a Russo/McEntee Huskies.
We are incredibly proud of all our students and the growth we have seen in them this year. The Student of the Year award is just one way we celebrate the outstanding individuals who help make our school a caring, respectful, and inspiring place to learn and grow.
