Golden Plains Unified School District proudly congratulates Maria Gomez on being officially sworn in as our Student Trustee on the GPUSD Governing Board! 🎓✨

Being selected to serve as Student Trustee is both an incredible honor and an important responsibility. Maria will have the unique opportunity to represent the voices and perspectives of students across our district, ensuring that student experiences, ideas, and needs are part of important conversations that help shape our schools.

Through this role, Maria will gain valuable firsthand experience in leadership, governance, public service, communication, and decision-making while working alongside district leaders and members of the Governing Board. 💻 FREE DIGITAL LITERACY COURSES! 💻

Build your computer skills, explore artificial intelligence, and prepare for new educational and career opportunities—all at no cost!

📅 Classes begin September 22, 2026
🗓️ Tuesdays and Thursdays
⏰ 6:00–8:30 p.m.
📍 Cantua Elementary School, Room 6
29288 W. Clarkson Ave., Cantua Creek

Courses include:

✅ Basic Computer Skills
✅ Navigating the Web and Email
✅ Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)
✅ Microsoft Programs
✅ College Transition

Each course includes 12 hours of instruction. Students who complete four courses will receive a FREE laptop!*

🔥 Build Your Future with Welding! 🔥

Enrollment is now open for CalWORKs Adult Education welding courses at Tranquillity High School’s Ag Welding Shop!

Choose from:

🔹 Welding Fundamentals
📅 August 25–October 15, 2026

🔹 Welding Fabrication
📅 October 20–December 17, 2026

Classes meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00–7:00 p.m. There are no registration fees!

Participants will gain hands-on experience in welding safety, equipment, techniques, blueprint reading, fabrication, and more.

🏐💙💛 HISTORY IN THE MAKING! 💛💙🏐

Congratulations to our Tranquillity Junior High Lady Tigers Volleyball Team on competing in the first junior high volleyball game in school history!

Our Lady Tigers faced Minarets Chawanakee and represented Tranquillity with heart, determination, and Tiger pride. Our “B” Team won one set and narrowly lost two sets in a very close match. Our “A” Team fell in two sets but continued to battle and never gave up.

Both teams showed tremendous heart and so much promising potential! This is only the beginning. If these young athletes continue working hard, learning, and believing in themselves, they will grow stronger and improve with every game.

Lady Tigers, we believe in you, and we are incredibly proud of you! Keep working, keep fighting, and keep making history! 🐯🏐
