Congratulations to Evelyn Orellana (LVN, Mountain View Alternative Schools), who received the following Shout-Out from a colleague: “Nurse Eve is basically the heartbeat of MVHS. Our students don’t just stop by for band-aids, they come for advice, reassurance, water breaks, and the occasional “you know you need to get back to class” talk. She has that magical combo of firmness and love that the kids respect and truly appreciate. Whether she’s caring for a scraped knee, keeping students on track, or assisting our CBI students, Nurse Eve is someone they trust and lean on every day. We are beyond lucky to have her!”

Creativity Pay$ Off!!

Students from Mountain View Alternative High School earned top honors in this year’s Eastern Municipal Water District Student Video Contest. The winning team, Karen, Ariel, and Rebecca, served as writers, actors, and producers of the video.

The contest challenged students to create an original video that promoted responsible wastewater practices centered on the theme “Think Before You Flush: That’s Being Sewer Smart!”

The winning video, “The Nightmare Before Class,” received an almost perfect score, with judges noting it was “engaging and brought a lot of awareness” and that it “clearly communicated how customers can keep sewers healthy.”

Winners were congratulated by an EMWD representative and each received a $500 Amazon gift card.
