Empowering students to make their own musical instruments and nurturing creativity in the process!

Leading students to make their own maracas during a workshop with Girl Scouts of Greater LA in San Gabriel was super fun and engaging. Just one of the ways that the studio gives back to the community!

Pinky taps are such a great way to improve bow holds with students. This encourages the pinky to rest on top of the bow stick while promoting ease of movement in the knuckles. One of my favorite ways to check in on a bow hold during a lesson!

Suzuki institutes are such an inspiring gathering place for Suzuki communities to gather and learn from each other! Excited to share many new teaching & learning ideas in the studio, and I’m once again reminded of Dr. Suzuki’s quote, “where love is deep, much can be accomplished.”

Thank you Los Angeles Suzuki Institute 🎻

I was reminded of the power of reviewing in several of the lessons I taught last week. Reviewing is one of the essential ‘ingredients’ when learning the Suzuki Method because it’s where a lot of learning happens!

Our brains thrive on repetition and the chance to ‘do it again’ when practicing a musical instrument, and the concept of review provides the opportunity to do just that. Playing music you already know how to play lets you improve your playing ability by diving deeper into musical concepts, refining instrumental technique, and building on your existing skill set as you develop new skills.

I got to witness these ideas in action as my student played through all of the songs she’s learned over the last six months during her lesson last week. It was incredible to see how much she’s improved and I’m so happy for her as she takes her violin playing to the next level. Truly one of the best parts of teaching music!

Announcing Music Makers: Summer 2026 Music Mini-Camp! 🎵🥁

Experience the joy of creating your own music this summer! Over the course of the week, participants will learn how to read and write basic music rhythm notation. They will also learn how to create their own rhythm patterns and even mini-music compositions, culminating in a mini in-class performance on the last day.

Registration is now open via the QR code above!

Summer is just around the corner, and I’m excited to offer a limited number of lesson packages this season! This the perfect time to begin private lessons and build a strong musical foundation in a warm, supportive environment.

Students enjoy becoming confident and expressive performers, with regular opportunities to perform around the community. Through the Suzuki Method approach, families are a part of their child’s learning journey through individualized private lessons, group classes, and regular practicing & music listening.

I’m happy to offer complimentary consultations for interested families, leave a comment or send a message to learn more. I look forward to hearing from you!
