Building Kidz School of San Francisco Specializing in Performing Arts to Enhance Academic Excellence! Our philosophy is to develop the “whole child”.

We are part of the Building Kidz Worldwide family of campuses, providing preschool and childcare services for our community in the Richmond District and all of San Francisco. We focus on 6 key areas of development: emotional, social, cognitive, physical, communication, and academic. The lights come up. The music starts. A room full of families leans in as our little stars take their places.

Twice a year, Building Kidz of San Francisco schools put on Broadway-style productions, and the children are the heart of every show. Weeks of rehearsal help them grow their memory, language and teamwork, but the real magic happens in that moment on stage, when they realize just how much they can do.

Why does movement matter so much in early childhood? Motor skills help children get ready to write, dress themselves, play with friends and focus in the classroom. At Building Kidz of San Francisco, we build these skills into every day through:

Gross motor: Climbing, balancing and jumping for strength and coordination

Who helps us every day? This month, our classrooms are finding out! From firefighters to the many everyday heroes in our neighborhoods, children are learning about the people who keep our communities safe, healthy and strong.

Through stories, role play and hands-on activities, children build:

Empathy and gratitude for the people around them
New vocabulary and storytelling skills
Confidence and teamwork through pretend play

Goodbyes can be hard, especially in the beginning. At Building Kidz, we greet each child by name, help them transition with a favorite activity, and keep goodbyes short, warm, and reassuring.

Every child adjusts in their own way, and we’re here to make the transition as comfortable as possible.

What is LTLE?

LTLE (Learning Through Life Experiences) is the heart of the Building Kidz curriculum. It is a hands-on, experiential approach where children learn by doing, exploring, and engaging with real-world concepts in meaningful ways.

Through LTLE, children don’t just memorize concepts, they experience them. This helps learning become deeper, more connected, and long lasting.

LTLE:
• Builds real problem-solving skills
• Grows confidence and independence
• Creates lessons that truly stick
