Drew Dragons making a difference beyond campus! ❤️🐉

Members of Drew’s Red Cross Club volunteered at San Francisco Fleet Week, supporting the American Red Cross in sharing important disaster preparedness and lifesaving skills with the community.

From distributing disaster preparedness prizes to participants who completed hands-on CPR lessons to cleaning training mannequins and helping keep the tent running smoothly, our students jumped right in to support the event.

What a great way for the club to kick off its first volunteer event of the year! We’re proud to see our Dragons putting service into action and making an impact in our community. 💚

Dragon Athletics is in full swing! 🐉🏆

Issue XIII of the Dragon Athletics Newsletter is here, with plenty to celebrate as our fall teams head into the second half of the season.

Flag Football is riding a six-game winning streak, Varsity Volleyball is making its playoff push, and our Dragons are competing and putting up standout performances across Cross Country, Girls’ Golf, Soccer, and more.

Hispanic Heritage Month at Drew! 💚🐉

Latinos Unidos kicked off the celebration with a student-led assembly exploring the meaning and significance of Hispanic Heritage Month, highlighting its history, culture, and influential figures, with some trivia along the way!

The celebration continued with music and games like Lotería, musical chairs, and pin the tail on the donkey. Students also enjoyed fruit with chamoy and Tajín, plus homemade fresas con crema. It was a chance to celebrate culture, learn from one another, and have some fun together.

Throughout the year, affinity groups like Latinos Unidos create opportunities for students to share their experiences, celebrate their identities, and bring the wider Drew community into the conversation. ✨

There really is something for everyone at Drew. 👀🐉

From Robotics and Rocketry to World Culinary Research, Jam Club, Yoyo Club, DND, Green Team, and more, Club Day gave students a chance to explore the many ways they can get involved, meet new people, and follow their interests outside the classroom.

Students also connected with Drew’s affinity groups, which create spaces for shared identities, experiences, community, and belonging throughout the school year.

With so many clubs and affinity groups to choose from, there are plenty of ways for every Dragon to find their people, try something new, or get involved in something they already love. 💚

A night to connect, share, and show up for one another. 💚

At this year’s Allies and Affinity Night, students, families, faculty, and staff gathered in affinity spaces for an evening shaped by conversation, activities, and shared experiences.

Each space made the evening its own. Some groups found common ground through stories and traditions, while others tested their knowledge through trivia, reflected together, exchanged resources, or brainstormed ways to stay connected throughout the school year. Families had the opportunity to ask questions, students shared their perspectives, and groups began imagining what they’d like to build together in the months ahead.

The evening wrapped up with everyone coming together for a community dinner and more time to connect.

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared, listened, and helped make the night what it was. 💚🐉

Learning beyond the classroom at Crissy Field! 🌊🔬

Students headed to Crissy Field to investigate the positive and negative impacts humans have on our local ecosystems. They measured species richness in the lagoon and dunes and collected microplastics to analyze back at Drew.

And their findings won’t stop there. Students will contribute their data to a larger database through the Blue Schools network, connecting their local fieldwork to a broader effort to better understand and protect our environment.

A pretty great way to turn San Francisco into the classroom. 💚🐉

Curious about Drew Robotics? Join the team tomorrow after school for Robotics Game Night!

Try a virtual version of last season’s competition to get a feel for what it’s like to drive and compete with a robot, then take a turn driving Drew’s actual robot! Whether you’re already interested in robotics or just want to see what it’s all about, come hang out and give it a try.

And yes, there will be pizza. 🍕👀
