I've been supporting a mental health app, based here in Munich, called Mindshine. They've built a beautifully designed app that combines the empowering practices of mindfulness for awareness + coaching practices to support you through cultivating steps towards your desired changes.
Mindshine is a personal development coach, with a full library of practices (200+) to move you towards your personal goals, helping you understand your mindset and daily routines.
This app is a wonderful addition to the UCLA Mindfulness app you might already be using.
You could gain access to their Mindshine Pro version, free for a month.
Use this link for your free month! https://bit.ly/3Pc7bTf
I'd love to start an accountability group that also utilizes the practices from this app to support your transition and change. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in!

Upcoming UCLA MAPS Classes :: It is when we are in transition that we are most completely alive. - William Bridges
I came across William Bridges' book, Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, in 2017 and it has been a supportive companion as I navigate the on-going transitions and changes on my mindfulness path. All transitions are composed of an ending, a neutral zone and a new beginning. To come to a ...

I'm writing to you from the vibrant and energetic city of Sevilla, Spain!
I've been here for the last 5 weeks as I wrap up a round of MAPS courses that started in September.
The photo is of the largest wooden structure in the world, Metropol Parasol, and Sevillians have renamed it Setas (mushrooms in Spanish) of Sevilla because it looks like mushrooms from an aerial view. 🍄
I came to Sevilla about 20 years ago. And now, 20 years later, it still has this energetic and passionate vibe that is so fun, lively, and invigorating.
Well, looking back 20 years ago, I was just starting my stint in management consulting.
Now, I'm in an entirely different space and very grateful that I could facilitate and share mindfulness - something that I've enjoyed so much.
Today is special because it marks the anniversary of my Dad's passing, 11 years ago. Death is the greatest teacher. And I wouldn't be here sharing something I love if it weren't for all the things I've learned from my Dad.
I love you, Bố. I know you are always here with me. 💕
One of the reasons I love mindfulness so much is that there is a sense of aliveness I could feel with this practice.
Many of us come to learn tools and techniques to support the daily challenges of the modern life.
Yet as we learn more and more, we begin to see how this practice helps us to feel more alive and present to our moments. We are less caught up with the regrets of the past or uncertainties of the future. We could enjoy the moment just as it is.
Come join me this November in the next round of classes!

Is anyone experiencing sleep problems? If so, I hope this upcoming course I'm offering could support you. The class will be on Tuesday evenings in Europe / daytime in California.
I'm offering a UCLA course on mindfulness. Studies have shown that mindfulness really helps if you have sleep issues. I know from my own experience it helped calm my monkey mind, which acts up a lot right when I'm trying to sleep. Or could wake me up in the middle of the night too.
Here's some info on how mindfulness could support your sleep: https://archive.kpcc.org/.../trouble-sleeping-ucla.../
And please reach out if you have any questions on the course!

In Wave Group supports the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA), which is dedicated to the professionalization and standardization of the mindfulness field.
A recent WHO-led study estimates that depression and anxiety disorders cost the global economy US$ 1 trillion each year in lost productivity.
Furthermore, according to the Lancet Commission, mental health disorders are on the rise in every country in the world and could cost the global economy up to $16 trillion between 2010 and 2030 if a collective failure to respond is not addressed.
In Wave believes integrating mindfulness-based interventions into the workplace, education, and healthcare environments would contribute to alleviating the rise of mental health concerns.
And perhaps in the near future, mindfulness-based interventions will be widely supported by healthcare insurance providers.

Loved the Mindful Summit's intimacy and accessibility to one of my favorite teachers, Dr. Dan Siegel. We were invited to share a meal with him and dialogue on selflessness and the interconnected self. Thank you to the organizers of this conference for creating an emerging and spontaneous environment. And lastly, can't wait to dive into The Mind of Leader from Harvard Business Review Publishing!
