Healthy Choices AmeriCorps, SFUSD AmeriCorps program within San Francisco Unified School District’s Student & Family Services Division.

Healthy Choices AmeriCorps seeks energetic San Francisco community members to join us! Help strengthen mentoring programs and support positive school climate. An excellent opportunity to gain invaluable experience in SF public schools, AmeriCorps Members help coordinate programs and activities in partnership with School Social Workers, Nurses, Teachers, Community Members and Partners. Regular training of Healthy Choices AmeriCorps members offers knowledge and skills to provide high quality services to schools at individual, group, and school-wide levels. AmeriCorps Members are paid a monthly stipend for their service engaging students, families, and school community members in positive activities. SERVE

Once a month, we gather mentoring pairs together to be in community and participate in relationship-building activities. With opportunties to join committees such as Communciations, Racial Equity, Social and Emotional Learning & Activity Planning, you'll play a key role in supporting mentoring across the San Francisco Unified School District.

Mentoring for Success provides 1-on-1 mentoring at over 40 schools across the district--wow! Our AmeriCorps members not only support mentoring by co-coordinating their school's metoring program, but they also have the chance to mentor students themselves. This is one of the most special aspects of serving as an AmeriCorps member with Healthy Choices: the ability to form genuine, positive connections with students.

Project Arrive is our group mentoring program that is available to 6th and 9th graders in the San Francisco Unified School District. We support students as they make the transition to a new school, providing them not only with a close group of students to confide in but also trusted adults that they know they can count on at their school site.

Lunch Bunch isn't just a fun rhyme--these are small groups facilitated with students by our AmeriCorps members during meal times where they can play games, have meaningful conversations with students, and support positive peer-to-peer interactions.

Ah, the wellness center. A magical place filled with fidgets, calming spaces and a welcoming energy. Many of our schools in the SF Unified School District have a wellness center where students can come when they have big feelings. Our AmeriCorps members support students in wellness centers across the school district every day!
