SFUSD 🤝 SF Ballet = pure magic ✨
Through this incredible partnership, our 2nd and 3rd graders at JYC get to experience the beauty, discipline, and joy of ballet *and sometimes, the spotlight*. This year, three of our very own students auditioned and were selected for a **scholarship** and a role in the **2025 SF Ballet Nutcracker** 🩰❄️
So proud of these hardworking, brave, and talented **JYC Pandas**. From the classroom to the stage… just wow. 💙🐼
At JYC, the 2nd and 3rd graders participate in a dance program with SF Ballet. The SF Ballet partners with SFUSD through programs like the Swanson Community Scholarship Program (SCSP), identifying talented elementary students for free, world-class ballet training, fostering lifelong arts connection, with some progressing to the SF Ballet School. This partnership brings dance enrichment into schools (like John Yehall Chin Elementary) via residencies and offers subsidized student matinee tickets, making ballet accessible and nurturing future professional dancers from diverse backgrounds within SFUSD.

Big gratitude to the USF Women’s Golf Team for spending the day with our JYC students, sharing what it really takes to dream big, set goals, and chase success with heart. Our kids lit up hearing their pep talks and walked away a little taller, a little more inspired.
Huge thank you to Tim and Peanut from Harper’s Kids for always showing up with so much positivity and support for our school community. Your impact goes further than you know. 💛⛳️

Salesforce and came to our school to build and give bikes and helmets to our 3rd graders. Volunteers came with willing hearts and hands to assemble a new bike for each 3rd grader and spend time fitting our kids helmets, adjusting their seats, and spending some time with them. Look at these happy kids!
Wish for Wheels partners with corporations and community organizations to give the gift of a brand new bike and helmet to second graders. By encouraging healthy habits at a young age, they foster independence and freedom, increase confidence, and create a lifelong love of bikes for students in underserved communities.

✨JYC fam, it’s time to level up!✨
We’ve mastered hard work and friendship—now we’re building on **Loyalty** and **Cooperation** 💪💛
Loyalty means standing by your team, even when things get tough.
Cooperation? That’s all about working *together* to make great things happen.
Keep climbing The Pyramid of Success—one strong step at a time! 🧱🔥

🪣 ☀️ JYC families had a blast at Ocean Beach for the annual Sandcastle Classic! LEAP’s Sandcastle Classic is a free community event organized by Leap Arts in Education to raise funds for arts programs in Bay Area schools. The event features professional teams (architects, engineers, etc.) working with elementary school students to create large sand sculptures. Thank you so much to all the firms that continue to partner with JYC to create these core memories with our students! 🐼
