SIERRA SPEAKERS NEWSLETTER - Feb 2025 ⭐ Whether you’re a full fledged Sierra Speaker, first-time guest, or Toastmaster from another club, we welcome all backgrounds!

Last night's Toastmasters meeting was a fun session centered on the theme of “junk”! We kicked things off with a warm welcome from our Toastmaster Moustafa Harfoush and a good laugh from our Jokemaster, Brent Prouty. Our newest member Venkat Subbu took the stage with his icebreaker, “From Dubai’s Sand to Toastmasters’ Stand,” giving us a glimpse into his journey with style and charm. Vincent Ng, one of our veteran speakers, followed with an engaging impromptu speech that kept us all on our toes!

The Table Topics session led by Kendra Viloria was a highlight as our lovely guests and members shared spontaneous answers to fun, junk-themed questions. We closed the meeting with a thoughtful evaluation session led by Stephanie Yang, rounding out a fantastic night of growth, connection, and humor.

We had an incredible time partnering with Golden Gate Toastmasters for our Open House Night! A huge shoutout to our amazing guest panelist, Angeli Fitch from D4TM, who won 3rd place at the Toastmasters World Championship! Thank you for inspiring us with your communication advice and sharing how we can better connect with our audience.

The evening was packed with powerful speeches from Angie Chau and Scott Brown, followed by a fun and engaging Table Topics session featuring guests and members from both clubs. We wrapped up with thoughtful evaluations that gave everyone (not just the speakers) valuable feedback and lessons to carry forward.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success! 🌟 Looking forward to more collaborations and fantastic speeches in the future! 🙌

Last week we had a riveting meeting themed "Giving Back", featuring Pete Bertrand's take on the news/media and an intriguing Table Topics session led by Moustafa Harfoush.

And it wouldn't have been possible without our Toastmaster, Phim Nakphon, who also happens to be our VP of Education and Division Director!

Summer is in full swing! 🌞 we're kicking it off with a fantastic meeting led by Lawland Long, who took on the role of Toastmaster for the first time at yesterday's meeting.

Some highlights: engaging speeches about social media, Lebron James and democracy, as well as a thought-provoking round of political Table Topics in the spirit of the season.

Exciting news - we're transitioning back to hybrid meetings, where you can refine your communication in a warm, welcoming environment. Our meetings take place every Thursday from 6-7:30pm, where you can join us in-person or on Zoom.
