During Read for the Record, members from our CLS executive team took a break from meetings to share stories, laughter, and a love of reading with UCSF’s youngest learners. A simple story can spark a lifetime of curiosity — and maybe even inspire the next generation of leaders. 💫📚

Happy Diwali! 🌟🪔
Kanika, UCSF Fitness and Recreation Instructor, shares what this Festival of Lights means to her:

“Diwali reminds me that no matter how dark things may seem, there’s always light within and around us. It’s a celebration of hope, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil. Every diya we light symbolizes clarity over confusion, kindness over negativity, and love over fear. For me, it’s also about reconnecting with community and family — sharing sweets, laughter, and gratitude for the light we bring into each other’s lives.”

Join us in wishing everyone a bright and joyful !

Did you know the legendary Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace, graced the halls of Mission Bay Conference Center at UCSF? She served as keynote speaker at the Wildlife Conservation Expo on multiple occasions.

This past weekend, our Conference Services team was proud to host the Wildlife Conservation Network once again, continuing our partnership in support of their important mission.

Rest in peace and power, Dr. Jane Goodall. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and compassion, and for gracing our campus with your presence. 🤍

Last week, we honored staff excellence, public service, and innovation at the inaugural Stellar Achievement Awards Ceremony and luncheon.

Jon Henry, HVAC Lead Mechanic for Facilities, was one of the recipients of the CLS Distinguished Service Award for his work in founding Both Sides of the Conversation, a nonprofit that uplifts and empowers Black and Brown communities through digital media, mentorship, and community engagement.

“The mission behind UCSF is about health, wellness, and community. In this spirit, I believe it's crucial for all of us to find ways to contribute beyond our standard eight-hour workdays. Going above and beyond is essential—not just for our personal growth but also for the benefit of the broader community. Giving back to community organizations and engaging in volunteer work has never been more important," Henry said.
