📢 May QTEL News: As the school year closes, we’re highlighting metacognition—creating space for educators and students to reflect on what we learned and how we learned it. This issue includes a student Reflection Chart, prompts for reflecting on support for Multilingual Learners, and a spotlight on Pauoa Elementary (Honolulu), where reflective professional learning helped raise students on track for English proficiency from 44% to 71%+.

The QTEL team at WestEd is thrilled to congratulate the dedicated elementary and secondary educators from Huntington Union Free School District (HUFSD) who have officially completed the QTEL Apprenticeship Program, earning their certification as QTEL Apprentices. Over the course of two years, these educators committed themselves to deep, transformative professional learning—examining their practice, refining their craft, and strengthening their ability to create rigorous and affirming learning experiences for English Learners and multilingual students. Their persistence and dedication are a testament to what is possible when educators truly invest in their students.
