Our new Request for Proposals just launched: up to $100K in grant funding, office space in SF and Berlin, community, and compute for open AI for science and safety projects.

This RFP spans three connected layers:

• Local Compute
• Coordination and accountability
• AI-first science: Bio, Neuro, Nano

We strongly prioritize work that uses AI as the primary engine of progress, and prioritize researchers and builders who want to be active, in-person members at one of our San Francisco or Berlin hubs.

We are hiring a Compute Support & Systems Administrator to manage the compute cluster and technical infrastructure of our Berlin AI Node, a physical hub powering AI-first projects in science and safety.

You will:
• Label, install, and maintain physical hardware and local servers
• Troubleshoot and support on-site UNIX-based GPU systems
• Manage NVIDIA drivers, CUDA environments, and multi-user GPU access
• Support Docker/containerized research workloads
• Onboard research projects and contribute to software development

The start date is ASAP, and we are reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

What work in usable security deserves recognition?

Our $10,000 Norm Hardy Prize recognizes work that makes secure systems easier to use. Applications are open.

Society depends on infrastructure that depends on security — yet our current software infrastructure isn't just insecure, it's insecurable. No interface fixes a broken foundation. We know how to build vastly more secure systems; the challenge is designing interactions that let people use them securely.
