In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, ELI students have been exploring the history of Japanese communities in San Francisco. We visited Japantown and attended a powerful panel at the SF Public Library about Japanese internment. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with personal stories of resilience and community. Thank you to the speakers who shared their experiences — and congratulations to all our new library card holders!

ELI students celebrated Earth Day volunteering at Hummingbird Farm – preparing the ground for planting, sharing knowledge about the plants, and experiencing the farm as a center for environmental, economic, and health justice. A beautiful day! Thank you,
