I've been in San Francisco on a work trip this week, and, as is typical for me, I've spent my free time walking around town, looking, and making pictures. By chance, I stumbled upon this poster at a bookstore window, and I managed to pop down to the to see this amazing retrospective exhibition.

Ray Potes was a major inspiration for me in the early days, and hamburgereyes is legendary in some photography circles, so seeing this show in person was a genuine treat.

If you are in the area, I hope you'll make time to see this show before it closes in September. I'll write more about this in my newsletter on Monday.

Congratulations, Ray!

Awwwww we love hearing the love (and critical feedback) - thanks!

Have a good summer to all.

From a student :

"Thank you for a wonderful class this semester. Please extend my gratitude to your team for their support with printing and for fielding questions throughout the course. This made a real difference. A special thank you to Renee for helping me find space for work calls, both after class and during those inevitable interruptions.

Most of all, your focused attention during the class reviews created an atmosphere where creativity could genuinely flourish. That's a real gift to your students.

Enjoy your summer!"- Student Spring 2026
