I’ve been making extra time for teaching the past few months, and I have to say it’s become one of my favorite parts of my weekly routine. It’s been a great reminder that whatever my life ends up looking like as a physician, that continuing to carve out space for teaching yoga will always be a part of the plan.

A big thank you to everyone who came to Yoga Lab yesterday, it was such a treat to spend time with so many PDX yogis🙂 If you’re interested in more online Yoga Labs let me know and we’ll do a couple more this Spring.

On a side note, I’ve been spending most of my free time at Ashtanga Yoga Berkeley and haven’t been doing much hand balancing lately - it’s nice to know I can still do a handstand 🙃

Yoga Lab online is happening tomorrow 1/17 1-3pm PST! Come ready for a full 2 hour practice with extra time to chew on the first few postures of intermediate series. By popular demand from my Portland yogis, I’ll be hosting a special online yoga lab this saturday, 1/17, 1pm-3pm via zoom! This session will focus on the first few poses of the ashtanga intermediate series up through bhekasana. As always, come prepared for a full 2 hour practice. Practice is donation based and all skill levels are welcome, however a consistent vinyasa practice is recommended. To register, just tune in using the zoom link in my profile, or send me a DM Saturday morning and I’ll send you the link.

For my Bay area yogis, join me for yoga lab every saturday in person at 430pm. This class is designed for those interested in progressing their asana practice by breaking down challenging postures. Similarly, come prepared for a full practice.

Starting this Sunday Nov 9th, I’ll be adding a weekly 6:15pm class to my teaching schedule in SF at the .room

Interested in starting an acroyoga practice? Join me in Vancouver, WA, at July 20th for an all levels workshop!

Acroyoga, aka “The Yoga of Trust”, is a practice that blends the mindfulness of yoga with the playfulness of partner acrobatics. In this workshop we’ll cover everything you need to know to start or progress your flying and basing so that you can leave feeling confident in your practice. For safety, spotters are always used in acrobatic sequences.

All levels welcome and no partner required, the workshop is July 20th from 2-4pm, $40 per person. You can register via the link in my bio.

I can’t wait to be heading back to Portland this week to kick off the summer 200hr yoga teacher training at . Teaching along side feels like going home and I’m so looking forward to connecting with community.

For those interested in public classes, I’ll be teaching the Saturday/Sunday 9am classes this weekend as well as returning for a yoga lab in July on Friday 7/18.

The first year of med school is officially complete! It’s been a wild ride full of new experience and connection as well as plenty of time spent cultivating old friendships. I’ve been reminded why I love San Francisco and am excited to continue walking a path that blends a lifestyle of mindfulness and medicine.

Exciting news! This summer Michele Loew and I will be getting the band back together to offer a 200hr YTT summer immersion at The Yoga Space in Portland, Oregon.

This foundational training is ideal for aspiring teachers as well as serious students interested in deepening their practice.

The program is rooted in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, blending the Vinyasa flow, internal form, and intelligent progression found in the Ashtanga system, the precise alignment instructions and supported poses of the Iyengar system, and the modifications to the individual of the Desikachar style.

We will focus on intelligently sequencing a flow based class, practicing with alignment to protect your body and open your subtle body, and learning classical philosophy to deepen your yoga journey.

Completing the full training is required for Yoga Alliance certification, however I’ll also be opening my weekend sessions to the public. So if you are a student interested in joining for handstand and arm balance weekend or a yoga lab, those options will also be available.

Sessions are in person, however zoom and session recordings will also be available. Full tuition is $2000 with payment plan options. If you are interested, send me a DM or email [email protected]

I’m excited to announce I’ll be offering a handstand workshop in SF this May at 🤸‍♂️

This two-hour workshop is all about building practical skills for a sustainable handstand practice. Whether you’re new to being upside down or working toward balancing away from the wall, you’ll learn techniques, drills, and warm-ups to support steady progress.

This workshop is mostly designed for those beginning a handstand practice or working on moving away from the wall. That being said, the material covered will reflect the skill level of those in the room, so all levels are encouraged and welcome to join.

The practice will be Saturday, May 31st at 1:30pm with a sliding scale of $50-80. You can sign up and pre reg with the link in my bio.

Tonight’s practice will be mostly themed around finding depth in hip-based postures.
