Treats, sweets, and good deeds! 🥠

Our Pre-K and Homework Club just finished a recipe of their own creation - a delicious bake sale held outside two of our centers on Mission St and San Bruno Ave!

All together, they raised $1,080 for Friends of the San Francisco Publjc Library - to say thank you to our incredible librarians for bringing the magic of story time to our classrooms and more!

We’re so proud of their teamwork and the confident conversations that led to such a sweet success! And a HUGE thank you to our teachers for supporting our youngest learners along the way and encouraging creativity in real-world settings!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, caregivers, grandmothers, aunties, and mother figures in our community. 💐

Thank you for the love, care, patience, and daily sacrifice you make to help children and families grow strong. Today, we celebrate you!

The is week, our Portola Cantonese Support Group created beautiful flower bouquets in preparation for Mother’s Day - made with love and care! 🌸

We wish all mother figures a joyful and restful weekend! 💓

This week, we’re celebrating the teachers in our community — all the way from early care educators to afterschool teachers, movement instructors, cooking facilitators, workshop leaders + partner organizations, and the staff who continue to make learning possible every single day. ✨

Thank you for the care, patience, creativity, and wisdom you pour into helping children and families feel seen, supported, and confident in themselves and the world around them. We’re especially grateful for educators who reflect the cultures, languages, and lived experiences of the families we serve, because representation matters deeply.

Thank you for all that you do. 👨‍🏫👩‍🏫 You show up every day with so much energy and passion, and your impact will never be forgotten.

Join our English Support Group for caregivers — a fun & welcoming space to connect, share, and find support alongside other families. Enjoy practicing new crafts as you listen and learn from each other. 🎨 Possibly even make a new friend. Childcare and snacks are provided, just come as you are.

Across our Portola and Excelsior centers, things have been smelling real yummy thanks to our latest Cooking Matters series led by 🧑‍🍳

Caregivers are building hands-on skills and confidence in the kitchen - chopping veggies, destemming kale, marinating proteins, and sautéeing garlic to uncover the richness of flavors in whole foods.

Though nourishment requires far more than just ingredients - it requires planning, budgeting, preparation, time, resources, and access. More than anything, these classes create the space for families to openly learn and ask questions while gaining new ideas to bring home to their tables. ⏲️

When families receive simple, practical tips they can incorporate everyday, they are able to achieve healthier, balanced diets which ultimately supports physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Huge kudos to for creating and facilitating these wonderfully engaging educational workshops!
