If you answered YES to these questions, you may be eligible to participate in this research study.

The purpose of the study is to explore the lived experiences of successful African American adults who were in foster care as children.

This study is being conducted as part of my requirements as a doctoral student at the California School of Professional Psychology, at Alliant International University. As part of your participation, you will be asked questions about your experience as a foster child. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire and to participate in a 2-part interview lasting between 1 and 3 hours each session. As part of your participation, you will receive a $25 gift card.

My name is Felisa Gaffney. I am a third year doctoral student at the California School of Professional Psychology, at Alliant International University. I am writing my dissertation as part of the academic requirements and would like to invite you to participate in my study, if you do not fit the criteria for the study, please share on face book with others who may fit the criteria of the study. An individual with a desire to participate in the study must meet the following minimum criteria: Be African American, at least 25 years of age, and have either completed a vocational certification program, or attended an institution of higher education culminating with the minimum of an Associate’s degree.
