We believe in a San Francisco where every child is able to reach their full potential and thrive.

We help families find child care that meets their needs, as well as financial assistance to pay for it. We also offer child development workshops and resources for families and early educators, including licensed and license-exempt child care providers, nannies and anyone who cares for children.

We’re still feeling inspired after Children’s Council’s BizNest Incubator team’s presentation at last month’s California Association for the Education of Young Children (CAAEYC) Conference in Pasadena!

The BizNest Incubator team led a session on “Empowering Family Child Care Providers to Support Children with Disabilities,” sharing key legal guidance, including ADA requirements, inclusive practices and strategies for accessing resources, while emphasizing the importance of building trusting relationships with children and families. Through meaningful, open conversations and real-life scenarios, participants gained practical tools, compassionate insights and fresh perspectives.

We are grateful to be part of a community committed to supporting providers creating inclusive spaces where every child belongs.

Whether you're a high school student planning your future or an adult looking for a fresh start, Children's Council's free Black and BIPOC ECE Pre-Apprenticeship Program can help you take the next step toward a meaningful career working with children and families.

Representation matters. A child’s future can start with seeing someone who looks like them. You can be the educator a child remembers forever and shape futures, inspire confidence and create change.

Earlier this month, Children’s Council's advocacy team joined our partners at the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network and Thriving Families CA as well as child care advocates from across California and the nation at the Child Care Aware of America Symposium in Washington DC.

During the symposium's advocacy day, we had a chance to meet with our federal representative’s offices to discuss the importance of federal child care funding and the impact it has on our children and families.

In celebration of National Black Child Development Week, Children's Council invites you to dream forward with us as we envision a world where Black children are exposed to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) as young as 0 to 5 years old!

Join BCDI-San Francisco for the Black Parent and Provider Town Hall on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30pm. Immerse yourself in fun STEAM-themed activities and workshops on nutrition, healthy living and effective community-building strategies centered in joy and empowerment.

🧸 Our program will highlight NBCDI's Eight Essential Outcomes, including ensuring Black children attend a school that affirms and expands them and have books and toys that reflect who they are and can be.

Funding for this project provided by the San Francisco Department of Early Childhood and sponsored by Children’s Council of San Francisco.

This free event is open to all (regardless of cultural background) that have a vested interest in supporting, uplifting and affirming Black children.
