International High School Independent Pre K - Grade 12 international school in the heart of San Francisco, CA.

International High School is a private high school attached to the French American International School located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, California, United States. Graduates may earn either the International Baccalaureate Diploma or the French Baccalaureate Diploma. Both IB and French Bac are recognized by universities and colleges globally, and graduates may be able to r

eceive college credit. Many of our graduates attend well-known international universities and Ivy League schools, with a high percentage of students attending small liberal arts schools.

Our Grade 11 Economics and Environmental Studies students took a field trip to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in West Oakland. This site treats residential wastewater from cities ranging from Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Piedmont, Albany, and Richmond Annex, among others. They learned how the plant produces and captures methane gas (CH4), using it to generate energy that makes the site Zero Waste AND allows them to sell energy to their neighbors.
