Meet Dan Chan '95, professional magician, mentalist, and one of the more unexpected success stories to come out of Lowell.
Dan started developing his interest in magic and sleight of hand while at Lowell, during what he calls a remarkable era in San Francisco. He later joined PayPal, then made a bold pivot: leaving tech to become a full-time entertainer.
Today he performs for some of the biggest companies in the world, including Google, Apple, Airbnb, and Amazon, and has shared a room with Elon Musk, George Lucas, Draymond Green, John Madden, and Paula Abdul. He's done more than 5,000 shows across Las Vegas, Germany, Shanghai, Japan, and beyond, and has been featured by CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, BuzzFeed, and Business Insider.

His name became part of the English language โ€” and it started right here in San Francisco.

Rube Goldberg '00 graduated from Lowell and went on to create the cartoons that gave us the "Rube Goldberg machine" โ€” those wonderfully overcomplicated contraptions that somehow get the job done.

He won a Pulitzer Prize in 1948. Not a bad run for a Cardinal.

โšพ Back on top.
The Lowell Cardinals captured the AAA San Francisco Section Championship at Oracle Park, defeating the Lincoln Mustangs 2-1 in a nail-biter to reclaim the city title.
First baseman Luca Tieman scored the decisive go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth to seal it. The Cardinals now advance to the Northern California Playoffs.
Lowell's 20th section title since 1995. Lincoln snapped the streak last season. The Cardinals answered.
Congratulations to the team, the coaches, and the whole Lowell community.

The Lowell Cardinals baseball team just returned from Kauai -- and they wanted us to pass along their heartfelt thanks to everyone in the Lowell alumni community whose support made the trip possible.
From the diamond to the mountains, these young Cardinals represented Lowell with pride every step of the way. Here's a look at their trip through their own lens.
Thank you for making moments like these possible. This is what looks like in the making.

From the halls of Lowell to the airwaves of New York City โ€” meet Steve Somers, Class of '65.
Steve played baseball and basketball at Lowell, served as Student Body Treasurer, and went on to spend 34 years at WFAN in New York โ€” the country's first 24/7 all-sports radio station. Now he's written it all down.
His memoir, Me Here, You There, traces his journey from growing up in San Francisco through a half-century in broadcasting. It's the kind of story that starts right here โ€” on the baseball diamond, in the hallways, in the city we all share.
The book is available on Amazon and at Barnes & Noble.
Congratulations, Steve โ€” this one's for the shelf. ๐Ÿ“ป๐Ÿ“–

Henry Witt โ€” D3 Track & Field | Johns Hopkins University

Henry Witt is heading to Johns Hopkins University to run track โ€” and it started right here at Lowell.
Henry came to track in middle school, inspired by his older brothers. He wasn't the fastest kid on the line, but he put in the work, locked in sophomore year, and by junior year he was ranked among the top runners in San Francisco. That breakout race changed everything.

Now he's the next generation of โ€” a student-athlete who figured out that balance matters as much as speed.

"Start early, but decide late." โ€” Henry's advice to anyone navigating the recruiting process.
Congratulations, Henry. Lowell is proud of you. ๐Ÿƒ
