The Scandinavian School and Cultural Center offer a full-time language immersion preschool program as well as language classes for children and adults in many different skill levels, in Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish. Language classes are either virtual or in-person, either in San Francisco or Menlo Park. The Scandinavian School and Cultural Center also offers multiple different events.

We also see the challenges families face: keeping languages alive, staying consistent, and motivating children as they grow older.

At our Empowering Multilingual Families -virtual workshop (Sept 28), you’ll connect with current research, share experiences with other families, and leave with practical tools to make multilingualism a natural part of your home life.

Fostering a deep connection to the natural world is at the heart of our pedagogy. We believe nature gives children something they simply can’t find indoors, a place to move more freely, explore with all their senses, wonder, take risks, slow down, and simply be.

For our preschoolers, the outdoors is not a break from learning, it is a place of learning. Every puddle, rock, leaf, breeze, and climbing tree offers an invitation to discover, imagine, and connect.

✨ Fall Fest Cocktail Hour — Friday, September 11
Join us for an adults-only evening under the stars featuring signature cocktails, and delicious fall-inspired bites as well as great company around the fire pit. Get your tickets with early bird prices by Sept 6.

🍁 Fall Fest Family Potluck & Brännboll Games — Sunday, September 13
Bring the whole family for an afternoon of Scandinavian-style fun, games, activities, and community connection! This is a free event at Midtown Terrace Playground, but please RSVP.
