The Scandinavian School and Cultural Center offer a full-time language immersion preschool program as well as language classes for children and adults in many different skill levels, in Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish. Language classes are either virtual or in-person, either in San Francisco or Menlo Park. The Scandinavian School and Cultural Center also offers multiple different events.

What a wonderful year at Nordic Open Preschool! Our little ones explored Nordic languages and traditions through songs, stories, crafts, play, and plenty of fika. It has been a joy to learn and grow together. Thank you to all the families who joined us this year! We wish you a great summer and look forward to welcoming you back in the fall! 💛💙❤️

Our Finnish program wrapped up another wonderful school year with a delicious potluck feast, mingle and play. Thanks you, teachers Aliisa & Anna as well as all the students & their families!
This year, students 5+ years learned numbers & vocabulary by measuring and weighing things they found in the classroom. They played with balloons to celebrate Vappu and got to suggest themes to explore on Saturday mornings (reindeers & games to name a few). For the babies & toddlers, there was plenty of singing songs & experiencing traditions through play and activities. Being present to support learning for these curious students 0-12 years is fun!

What a wonderful year in our Finnish 🇫🇮 and Swedish 🇸🇪 Open Preschools on Saturdays! Through songs, stories, crafts, sensory play, circle time, and lots of fika, babies and toddlers 0-4 explored nordic languages and cultures together with their caregivers in a warm and playful environment 😊 A big thank you to our fantastic teachers and families!
