A memorial celebration honoring the legacy of former SF State Journalism lecturer, alumnus ('55), and Golden Gater editor Lynn Ludlow will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Polish Club of San Francisco.

Ludlow was a mentor to generations of students and a bedrock presence through four decades in San Francisco newsrooms. He served as editor of the Golden Gater in spring 1953, later joining faculty as a lecturer, publication advisor and writing coach for SF State journalism students from 1967 to 1987.

During more than 50 years in journalism, Ludlow covered some of the most consequential stories and newsmakers of his era. His courageous values and ethical compass strengthened all of the journalists and journalism he touched over his distinguished career.
