Queer Alliance at USF

We will be having an arts and crafts night this Friday 11/19 in UC504! We will provide coloring pages and some art supplies and encourage you to bring any of your own. During our art circle we will also have a discussion about LGBT art. We’re excited to see you and your creations!

According to J. The Jewish News of Northern California, the Urban Education and Social Justice instagram account has been deactivated for expressing solidarity with occupied Palestine and drawing attention to the United States’ role in the ongoing genocide by the IDF. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. The University being complicit with Zionism and advocating for a two state solution is an affront to the Palestinian people and oppressed people worldwide.

The Crux of the argument for a two state solution is that fundamentally Jews and Palestinians can't get along. Not only is this demonstrably untrue (historically and in modern times), but there are PALESTINIAN JEWS. WHERE do they fit in your two state solution? Despite President Fitzgerald’s claim, a two state solution CANNOT be peaceful when one of the states in question is an occupying settler colonialist stronghold. There will NEVER be peace in the Levant as long as Israel is given carte blanche by the West to ethnically cleanse Palestine.

APARTHEID IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE in any form. Living in a country that bankrolls this ongoing slaughter, it is our responsibility to do everything in our power to advocate for Palestinians. A University that claims to be invested in working against worldwide injustice MUST NOT make excuses for modern day fascism.

Prism stands with Palestine and condemns the actions of the University.

We are striking to bring attention to police violence and the way universities and USF are complicit in the violence enacted by the carceral state. In observance of this action, we reclaim the time and space academia has stolen from our bodies, minds, and spirits. It serves as a reminder for us to rest and heal intentionally with one another, in the midst of ongoing state violence.

In less than an hour we will be holding our COVID Identity Transformation meeting! Emmet will lead a discussion about how the COVID-19 pandemic and stay at home orders have made many LGBTQ+ people question their identities and re-evaluate them. Zoom link will be emailed soon!
