Last week, we welcomed a powerhouse mother-daughter duo to our March SV Women’s Fireside Chat—Mary Ann Bianco (High Growth SaaS Revenue Leader and SV Mentor), and Annalise Pfeiffer (People Business Partner Generalist at Okta)! Here are 4 big takeaways from the conversation:

1️⃣ It's natural to feel uncertain and it's important to be solution-oriented. Lean on people you trust and remember that your feelings are valid.

2️⃣ Embrace the power of the pause. If something gets to you, keep your composure and step away from the situation. Take time to represent yourself thoughtfully and intentionally.

3️⃣ In interviews, research the company, its values, and the interviewers. Identify 5-6 questions in advance and make them good! Ask the hiring manager about their management style and ramp-up time. Ask teammates about the advice they would give themselves when they were starting out at the company.

4️⃣ Master the job your manager is asking you to do and then build on top of that. Use your entrepreneurial spirit as an 'and', not an 'or'. Keeping a consistent track record builds trust with your manager and teammates - that trust is critical to getting promoted.

Please welcome our newest Tech Sales cohorts! Last Monday marked the start of their new career journey and they had an exciting first week full of hands-on skills training and diving into the world of sales.

To add to all of the learning activities, Nicole Goetz, (2019 Tech Sales Program Grad and now Business Development Manager at Bill) and Josh Joykutty (VP of Inside Sales at TVC Pro-Driver) also came out to celebrate and share stories about how they found success in sales through non-traditional pathways—leaving everyone inspired and ready to blaze their own trail. Thank you both for your gems of wisdom and your support as our learners embark on this life-changing experience!

Help us congratulate Tasneem (2022 Tech Sales Program graduate) on her new role as Business Development Representative at Celigo!

Tasneem's drive, focus, and commitment have led her on an amazing journey. From her early days excelling in sales, not letting any setback stand in her way, and finally reaching this remarkable milestone, we are excited to celebrate this huge success with her.

But her ambition doesn't end there. She also taught herself photography and freelanced for 10 years, focusing on events for the non-profit sector and portraits.

Congratulations again Tasneem! We cannot wait to see what else is in store for you.

Last week, we welcomed the inspiring Juliana Stancampiano, CEO of Oxygen, entrepreneur, author (Radical Outcomes: How to Create Extraordinary Teams That Get Tangible Results), and board member at the Sales Enablement Society, to our February SV Academy Women's Fireside Chat!

The key takeaways from this month’s session highlight how team excellence relies on being both a top performer and a team player—these can be cultivated together rather than seen as separate identities. Don't fear challenges; even if you might feel scared at first, move when it intuitively feels right. During those early days in a new role, lean into curiosity - ask lots of questions! Juliana reminded us all about the importance of building our confidence by facing challenges head-on: "There are no answers. It's just about how you navigate what's in front of you."
