sessions) - $300
The core belief in JW Music is that music should be something you love to do, even the learning process. My main goal will be not only to teach you how to read and write your own music, but to have fun doing it. The escape you will receive from learning these skills is invaluable, and will bring you a lifetime of therapeutic and recreational enjoyment. I have about 15 years of experience on the guitar, and 20 years of experience on the piano, but my main area of expertise lies in the art of Music Composition. I have done it all, from 32 part wind ensemble pieces and big band jazz charts to House, Hip Hop, RnB, and EDM productions. JW Music Co

Digital Audio Production Lessons
If you are new to music, I will start by teaching you the basics in music theory. Everything you will need to know to write your own tracks, which will cover some basic piano. After that we will dive right into production using either Ableton Live 9, or Logic X. I will explain how a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) works and how they are all really the same thing. We will be moving quickly into beat making so you can practice at home between sessions. Not only will I show you how to compose music, but also how to use audio engineering tools and hardware to mix down your music for Clubs and Radio. I will also cover how to sample, Sound design/ Synthesis and popular production techniques uses in modern recordings. You will also learn the basics of Recording Arts: Which mics to use and when, Gain staging, using compressors and EQs etc. Experienced producer already? I invite you to attend one of my sessions and see how I work. I have been producing beats for 12 years, and have many advanced tips and tricks you can benefit from. My solid workflow is designed for speed, because time for producing can be limited as we all know. Maximize your time efficiency, produce more, and more hits will emerge. Guitar and Piano Lessons
I have been classically trained in both instruments, however the majority of my instructors have a Jazz background and I couldn't be more thankful. I want to focus on not making you a “typist” so to speak, where if a fly lands on a page you will play the note. I will teach you how to play expressively and how to improvise. This to me is the most enjoyable approach to learning an instrument and enjoyment is the number one focus of JW Music. I will craft the curriculum for all my students around what your goals are. If you want to play in bands for fun and jam with friends I will teach you all you need to know, and nothing more. If you want to learn to read sheet music and play classical will teach you that as well. If you want to learn to write your own songs I will teach that as well! The focus will always be on enjoying yourself and gaining a skill you will keep forever. Leave me an email and we can figure something out that works best for the both of us. About Me
I started playing piano at age 3 when my mother started to give me basic lessons. I had an old Yamaha keyboard that quickly turned into my favorite toy. I never was forced into lessons or strenuous practice routines which is why I believe I stuck with music in the beginning. For me it was always an escape and an enjoyable pastime, and I believe for young musicians this is the most important thing I will teach: Not to practice, but to play. I played Trumpet for 6 years classically in school bands as well as professional orchestras and was the first student at my High School to compose a big band Jazz Chart that was performed at a concert as well as a 32 part wind ensemble piece. In college I learned virtually everything there is to know about Music Theory, but I found that a lot of what I learned is not really applicable to modern songwriting. In my program, after a brief consultation, I will teach you what you need to know and not waste your time on anything else.
