Just another casual Friday at UHS 🦖☃️🦓🐓

We had a blast at the Inflatable 2.0 Event last week, where faculty and staff suited up to kick, dive, slide, laugh, and yell their way through a variety of games

Across the country and around the globe, UHS students are doing spectacular things. Today's spotlight is on Leah Mordehai '27.

Leah served as a Youth Delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York City. During the conference, she was interviewed by ABC7 about the importance of youth representation in global decision-making bodies and the need for young people to have a voice in international policy discussions. While attending the conference, Leah was also called upon to speak during a town hall in the United Nations General Assembly with António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations. She asked a question regarding conflict-related sexual violence in Ukraine and the responsibility of the international community to address these crimes. Videos below.

In addition, Leah is hosting a youth-led international discussion titled “Violence & the Abduction of Ukrainian Children” on March 18, 2026. Organized in partnership with the United Nations Association of the USA (San Francisco Chapter), National Council of Jewish Women, and Ratify Movement, the event examines conflict-related sexual violence and the forcible deportation of Ukrainian children during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
