Today was the last day of school before summer break! We celebrated all students at our Moving Up Ceremony, and teachers and Upper School students signed newly-released, student-made yearbooks on the rooftop with sweet treats in-hand π¦ We will miss our 'Phins this summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall.
We can't wait to celebrate our 8th graders this Friday at graduation! π₯³

Our 4th Graders took us on a fairy tale journey this week. On Wednesday, June 1, our students put on the annual 4th Grade Play, "Ever After," in our brand new performance space. π

Our 4th Graders had a blast on their recent outdoor education trip to Coloma! Over the course of several days, 'Phins had a chance to take on gold mining personas, get hands-on learning about California history, and explore nature together. βοΈπ²

At the end of each school year, SF Day 8th Graders work on a culminating project celebrating student curiosity, creativity, and community. Students developed their projects over the course of three weeks in diverse, creative ways. π‘
This year, the Class of 2022 hosted "Cultiv8," a showcase of their end-of-year projects to inspire fellow students and families. Congratulations to our 8th Graders for their hard work!

Our 8th Graders recently performed their music soiree, featuring music from West Side Story π΅ A student-run show, the creative and unique production showcased our students as choreographers, costume designers, musicians, and producers. π
It was a wonderful way to celebrate the Class of 2022 and their many talents! π

On Thursday evening, the community gathered for an end-of-year celebration to recognize and bid fond farewells to all those leaving San Francisco Day School, including Betsy Brody, Loren MoyΓ©, Dr. Ruth Bissell, and Sandi Gilmore. π
The rooftop was abuzz with joyβthe celebration was complete with sweet treats, fun games, a balloon artist, a photo booth, and our mascot, Simon, made a special appearance! π¬

Earlier today, Upper School students at SF Day organized and led a gathering to protest gun violence in response to the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Students led a quiet march through the halls with signs, and teachers and students spent time together writing letters to elected representatives.

It's Copa Week! Copa is a SF Day traditionβUpper School students form teams representing different countries and face off in a week-long tournament on the rooftop. β½
In preparation for the week of fun, students research the country their team represents and decorate the rooftop with flags from around the globe. π

The 6th Grade Rock Band hosted their first-ever BBQ & Blues event last week during lunch πΈπΆ
"Resident Pitmaster" Mr. Tognetti fired up the BBQ as members of the 6th Grade Rock Band played some tunes for everyone to enjoy. Rock on, 'Phins! π€

Student artists from all grades recently shared their crafty creations in our school's "Imagine That!" event, a new twist to the end-of-year art show. π€©
The event, a collaboration between the Innovation Lab, Music, and Visual Arts Departments, brought the SF Day community together to celebrate the theme "Be Who You Are." Student artwork included 2D and 3D art installations π¨, performing arts π, and live music! π΅
