Visitacion Valley Middle School - SFUSD

So proud to honor our young Black scholars as they took the stage for the 30th annual African American Honor Roll SFUSD celebration made possible by the San Francisco Alliance of Black School Educators. The love and brilliance and "Black Joy" as Mayor London succinctly phrased it in her speech was palpable, as it should be. From elementary through high school, the students were representing and proud. Big Viz was in the HOUSE!!

The invocation was delivered by civil rights activist, Pastor, and President of the S.F. branch of the NAACP, Amos Brown. Before launching an inspiring and uplifting, empowering speech celebrating our youth and community, he noted that the media cameras, always rolling to publicize Black violence, were no where to be seen to promote the celebration of brilliance and academic excellence of these young people and the Black community of San Francisco. So many folks showed to show their love and support to make this happen.

Join us on Wednesday, December 13th from 1pm - 2:15pm for our Winter Music Concert! Our 7th and 8th grade students have been working on performance pieces all semester in music class, and we are excited to showcase their work to our community! We will reserve some seats in the front of the auditorium for families so you're able to clearly see your student perform. See you then!

Amazing afternoon celebrating Latinx culture - food, fun, family… piñata hitting, hand painting, game playing and skull decorating. Mostly student organized, we are so grateful to the kids, staff and families who made this day possible. what would we do without you? Such good fun!

Our brilliant office staff and family liaison, , our very own amazing Wellness team, .and.girls_club and USF in the lobby, assistant principal D’Antonio running around ensuring all went smoothly… welcoming families to our Back To School Night 2023 🥳. Families came, they saw, they met with staff and made connections. 2023-24 school year is off and running thanks to the skill and talent of the staff and the kids who inspire us every day ♥️.
