Founded in 1970, Glenridge Cooperative is a play-based preschool nestled in Glen Canyon Park in San Francisco. Stroll through our woods and you'll find children stomping in mud, climbing on stumps, or chasing friends through a eucalyptus grove. The schoolhouse sits on seventy acres of boulders, brush, and wildlife, which are explored daily on hikes led by staff and parents. For Glenridge families it is a great privilege that the natural world can be a nurturing one as well.

Hi Glenridge community! 👋
Please join us for the annual alumni picnic at Glenridge on Saturday, May 2, from 12 to 3 p.m. There will be games, open school, and lots of fun!
BYO picnic food, drinks, and a plate to share with canyon friends if you feel so inclined. (Please note that all Glenridge events are nut-free.) We encourage you to bring your drinks in reusable containers - as usual, we’ll all be packing our own trash out of the canyon. 🧺
And don’t forget your picnic blanket and chairs!

This is an opportunity for prospective children and parents to experience the beauty of our school in Glen Canyon. Parents are able to ask questions of the director and current Board members and in return will better understand the school’s philosophy, curriculum, parent responsibilities and benefits of attending Glenridge.

This afternoon we gathered for our annual Stone Soup celebration 🥣
Stone Soup is a folk story about cooperation and generosity in the face of scarcity. In the tale, a group of travelers arrives at a village with nothing but an empty pot. The villagers, initially unwilling to share their food, watch as the travelers begin making “stone soup,” adding water and a large stone to their pot. One by one, villagers grow curious and contribute small ingredients (carrots, seasonings, and more) until the pot is filled with a delicious, nourishing soup that everyone shares together.
Students had a great time preparing soup for this year’s event, complete with the stone, which was found and passed around for all to see 🪨

Happy Friday from our winter-themed music class this morning! Students danced, played egg shakers and triangles, and even experienced some “snow” ❄️
