Help Ms. Bing’s Family as they Navigate a Medical Crisis

Hello Lakeshore Community,

We're reaching out to share that our longtime noon monitor, Ms. Bing, is going through an incredibly difficult time right now. For over a decade, Bing, a Lakeshore alum parent and staff member, has been a caring and steady presence on our campus, supporting and looking out for our students each day with so much kindness and dedication.

Recently, Bing’s husband experienced a serious medical emergency and now requires intensive, ongoing care. He has been going through this for several months, and while Bing has carried this quietly, we know this has been an incredibly challenging time for her and her family. With so much uncertainty ahead, we would love to surround Bing with the same care and support she has always shown to our school community.

One of the things that makes our school so special is the way our community comes together during difficult times. We would love for everyone to contribute in any way they are able so we can show Bing and her family that they are not facing this alone. No amount is too small, and every contribution will help directly support her family as they navigate the road ahead.

Lakeshore Elementary's 37th Annual Science Fair is on Thursday, May 14, 5 - 7pm. We welcome the community to see our students' projects and enjoy a special hands-on Science Night in the Cafeteria and Community Room with fun demonstrations and experiments! Please note, this is not a drop-off event and your kids need a guardian to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

We were excited to have Kay Healy, author and illustrator of the “Casey’s Cases” graphic novel series, visit Lakeshore this month. She shared about her creative process and all of our 2nd and 3rd grade students received a copy of one of her books. Wednesday is our Lakeshore Community Family Math Night!! Play fun math games, win loads of prizes, eat delicious pizza, and enter the Read-A-Thon Raffle! 5:30 - 7pm in the Community Room.
