This powerful commercial is a reminder of the extraordinary lengths parents go to support their children. This summer, you can help extend that same support to homeless children at Raphael House who are eager for meaningful STEM learning. Your contribution makes a real difference and is fully tax‑deductible

“Science is the greatest equalizing force in the world. When I set out, I didn’t set out to solve the world’s carbon problem or water problem. I set out to build beautiful things and solve intellectual problems.”

Finding Your Opus Magnum
Alchemy Experience Dinner - June 6th, 2025

Join us for an exclusive, adults-only dining experience—a celebration of life through the art of culinary alchemy. In this immersive journey, Jungian symbolism intertwines with the transformative nature of food, creating a storytelling experience like no other.
Each dish reflects the four mystical stages of alchemy—Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas, and Rubedo—offering a sensory exploration where flavor, metaphor, and meaning converge. Through thought-provoking activities and an exquisite gastronomic voyage, we will honor the ancient pursuit of crafting the elixir of life—a passage to wholeness, individuation, and the ultimate Magnum Opus. Here, your values, emotions, and beliefs dissolve into a singular, transcendent essence.

Celebrating the 323rd anniversary of Andre Celsius upside down!

Anders Celsius devised a simple, reliable way of measurement: the centigrade (“100 steps”) temperature scale. It set the FREEZING point of water at 100 degrees and the BOILING point at the 0-degree mark. Yes, you read correctly. This was because the temperature in Sweden during the winter is very low, and Celsius preferred not to use negative numbers daily. Not long after Celsius died in 1744, Carolus Linnaeus suggested inverting the centigrade scale, making 0 degrees the freezing point and 100 degrees the boiling point of water.

Spider Science
Do spiders deserve much better press? Modern media tend to portray spiders as eight-legged, multi-eyed terrors. With deeper exposure, and open minds, can we come to see the beauty and benefits of our arachnid acquaintances? UC Berkeley scientist Trinity Walls thinks so. Her life-long journey — from curious child to rigorous researcher — reveals spider science to be an avenue of creative self-expression that offers rich insights into nature and society.
