No passport required for this adventure!

We are so excited for the first Sterne Salon of the year on Monday, October 26th! We’re setting sail with Sterne parent Lindsay Lowe as she shares tales from her 2-year family sailing voyage from the Chesapeake Bay to French Polynesia!

Joined by moderator Melissa Myers, they’ll be discussing how travel, healthy risk-taking, and new traditions shape how our kids see the world—including the incredible impact of Sterne’s experiential trips.
We can't wait to see you!

Last Friday, our Lower and Middle School kicked off the year’s first Expedition Day! 🌊

On Expedition Days, homerooms head out into San Francisco to explore its natural history, ecology, and preservation through hands-on learning. Our students spent the day kayaking in McCovey Cove, working on outdoor projects in the Presidio, unlocking creativity at the Maker Faire, and LARPing in Golden Gate Park.

A fun-filled Friday of meaningful work and connecting with each other!

What a night! Our campus came alive last week as parents gathered for Back to School Night, and it reminded us just how special this community is. There’s something about having these halls filled with familiar faces and new ones every year. Whether you’ve been part of our story for one year or fifty, this place, and this community, are always here to welcome you home.

Lights, camera, encore! 🎬🎶 Sterne's Spring Music & Film Fest did NOT disappoint. From live performances to student films (yes, including Sterner Things 👀), our students brought the talent and we are still talking about it. So proud of every single one of them. ✨

✨ Story #27: Melissa Myers — Bringing Joy to Learning Every Day ✨

From reading specialist at a Title I school to Head of School at Sterne, Melissa Myers has spent her career believing in one simple truth: everyone can learn to read. 📚
In Sterne's 50th year, we're celebrating the leader who guided our community through a pandemic, helped launch our high school program, and never lost sight of what matters most — the students. 🏫
