This year, HUG is collecting new toys and gently loved jackets and coats for our Toy and Coat Drive! If you would like to participate, please drop by HUG during our operating hours (except 1-3 pm) until 12/12 and we will donate on them your behalf. Thank you for helping us model God’s love by blessing the community around us!

Did you know that the environment acts as the third teacher? How a school structures their environment sends a message to the child about how we see them. At HUG, our environment is warm and welcoming for every child who joins us. Through child and family photos, intentionally displayed projects, and books about each child, HUG children know they are loved and cared for. This creates a strong foundation for learning since each child feels secure and seen. Additionally, HUG is built around the child with materials and stations at their eye level. This communicates to the children that HUG is a space made for them and that we entrust them to take care of it. Looking to learn about supporting your child’s development? Join us on January 16th from 5:45-7:30 PM for our seminar “Dinner & Development!” We will be exploring how to best support your preschooler’s development together as a community, engaging and connecting in fun and meaningful ways. Communication and community is key! Here at HUG, we love having families be part of our school. When children see their world is part of their learning, they feel more connected and ready to learn! We love how close and tightly knit our school community is. We wouldn't be HUG without it!

Next up is staffing! Do you know who staffs your school? Preschool is always about adaptation and growth as a result of security. Continuity of care helps children grow a secure attachment to their teachers, which positions them to better learn! Our low turnover rate is due to the holistic support and care for teachers from our community and administration. Taking care of our staff is a huge priority because they are who work directly with the children. Happy teachers make a happy school! Say thank you to a teacher today ☺️
